The AEMT (Association of Electrical and Mechanical Trades) is pleased to have come to an agreement with ISES (The International Ship Engineering Service Association) so that their combined memberships can provide a worldwide electrical, mechanical, electronic, and technical service to ship and vessel operators, and managers of marine support and offshore equipment.

The combined network of members offers a comprehensive international coverage, with the AEMT’s coverage in the UK, Europe, The Gulf, and South East Asia, and ISES adding additional coverage internationally in Europe, Australia, North and South America, China, Korea, and Japan.

AEMT members worldwide offer a comprehensive Electrical and Mechanical Engineering service. Some members offer on voyage repairs and fault finding, and have access to ports and dry docks internationally.

Members offer servicing, maintenance, condition monitoring, fault finding and repairs to power generation plants, generators and alternators, large and small machines, fans, pumps, gearboxes, turbines, transformers, drives, panels, and switchgear.

  • Electrical engineering includes service to supply, maintain, and repair small to large rotating equipment including electric machines and power generation equipment.
  • Mechanical repairs include reclamation of worn shafts, welding, metal spraying, dynamic balancing.
  • Condition monitoring and preventative maintenance includes thermographic imaging and analysis, vibration analysis, laser alignment, oil analysis, as well as High Voltage and Low Voltage machine monitoring.
  • The AEMT Ex register lists all members internationally that are trained to carry out repairs to Hazardous Area, ATEX and UL, machines and equipment.

About the AEMT

The Association of Electrical and Mechanical Trades (AEMT) was founded in 1945. It is an International Association representing leading companies in the electrical and mechanical service and repair industry. Members manufacture, distribute, install, service, maintain, and repair, electric motors, drives, pumps, fans, gearboxes, generators, transformers, switchgear, and ancillary equipment. In addition to motor and pump service facilities, most members operate mechanical engineering workshops for metal fabrication and the repair and refurbishment of worn components. Others include panel building facilities and some carry out repairs to industrial electronic equipment. Associate Members are companies that supply products and services to Members.

Proceeding the publication of AEMT's and BEAMA's jointly produced first code of practice for The Repair and Overhaul of Electrical Equipment for use in Potentially Explosive Atmospheres, which was adopted as the initial IEC 60079-19 international standard. The association has put together a selection of Training modules covering the Theory and Practical nature to ATEX and IECEx equipment repair. The modules are delivered as accredited training courses by expert teams across the globe.
