Since January 2015, JOST has been manufacturing and distributing trailer axles engineered by Mercedes-Benz. The range of products includes aux-iliary truck axles – TAG as well as pusher axles. Further trailer and semi-trailer axles with disc brakes as standard, mega and piggyback trailers, as well as steering axles. New at the Commercial Vehicle Show the JOST Truck Axles JPS 9000. A 9 tonne pusher axle for 6x2, 8x4 and other vehicle configurations newly added to the portfolio of JOST axle solutions.

JOST stands for technical service and local support around the globe. Its UK headquarters are in Bolton – where it manufactures the Edbro range of tipping cylinders – and it has facilities across Europa and the rest of the world. With sales and production facilities in 21 countries, the company is the global partner of choice for the commercial vehicle industry.

Truck OEMs trust in auxiliary truck axles by JOST, whose solutions include pusher and TAG axles, rigid as well as steerable, optionally with suspension sys-tem or lifting mechanisms. JOST provides solutions to increase the permissible load for vehicles with more than two axles by adding a JOST auxiliary axle in front or behind the drive axle. With the vast range of JOST truck axles, 6x2, 8x4 and other vehicle configurations can be optimally equipped for a wide range of applications.

Whether gigaliner or silo vehicles in long-distance traffic or timber transporters in off-road use, JOST truck axles always offer a solution due its modular design concept. JOST truck axles are a good choice for their optimal load to weight ratio, compact and field-proven designs.

New at the Commercial Vehicle Show in Birmingham, JOST presents the JPS 9000, a 9 tonne pusher axle with a proven steering mechanism. By using a bent axle tube for the gear rod, this load-supporting axle can be optimally positioned in front of the drive axle. Different design components allow JOST pusher axles to be individually adapted to each application.

Corresponding lifting mechanisms make JOST pusher axle suitable mid-lift ax-les. For vehicles that require high manoeuvrability, such as disposal vehicles in urban transport, JOST pusher axles are equipped with command steering. Since truck configurations are as varied as the transport missions in the freight carry-ing industries, JOST auxiliary truck axles are available in a variety of designs to match custom requirements.

Furthermore the innovative DCA AIRMASTER, a technically advanced trailer axle, is also exhibited at the Commercial Vehicle Show. The DCA AIRMASTER by JOST is the world’s first and only trailer axle which stores compressed air for the air suspension and brakes in its housing. This results in weight savings of up to 50 kg and frees up the assembly space below the trailer to allow entirely new vehicle concepts.

The DCA AIRMASTER with integrated compressed air reservoir is also availa-ble with the Plug & Play solution for tyre inflation systems. The construction de-sign of two separate air circuits results in the unique function of being able to store pressurised air for both the brake system and the air suspension in the axle beam, while at the same time benefiting from the advantages of a tyre inflation system. Tyre inflation systems clearly increase the lifetime of tyres, while opti-mised tyre pressure reduces tyre wear and fuel consumption. The easy-to-assemble JOST Plug & Play solution for tyre inflation systems guarantees a fast installation with no additional conversion effort for all common trailer types and is compatible with all common control systems.
