Launched in a recent August issue of Commercial Motor a new feature “Seven for ’07” will follow the fortunes of seven trucks for 12 months. One of the specially chosen operators, Thompson’s of Prudhoe will share the progress of a newly registered Volvo fitted with the robust, efficient Edbro telescopic skiploader system.

Northumberland based waste operator Thompson’s of Prudhoe, runs an extensive network of operations with four quarries, four waste disposal sites and three recycling sites across the North East in Northumberland, Durham, Cumbria and Tyne & Wear. Transport Manager, Ronnie McGrouther explains their reasons for using the Edbro system.

“Over the years of using Edbro skiploaders, the equipment has really stood up to the test of our operations. Maintenance is minimal and the equipment lasts for the lifetime of the vehicle with no reliability worries. With such low maintenance costs and the user friendly design, we continue to choose Edbro for our hard working fleet.”

The Edbro telescopic arm skiploader system is part of the Waste Handling Solutions range from UK-based global market leader Edbro. Expertly designed for chassis from 18 to 26 tonne GVW, the BLBTA equipment is available for every chassis type and detailed information can be downloaded from www.edbro.com.

To follow the progress of this vehicle and the performance of the Edbro equipment, look out for regular features in Commercial Motor and keep checking the Edbro website for news of the latest updates.
