Klarius, one of Europe’s largest independently owned automotive manufacturing concerns, has today announced the appointment of David Cheetham as Finance Director; the position taking effect from 1st October 2009.

David has worked closely with the existing Klarius Board since the company’s foundation in 2007. In his former position as a Partner at Manchester based Corporate Finance specialists, Ford Campbell, David was responsible for the team that, acting on behalf of Tony Wilson and Andrew Jones, financed and completed the successful 2007 purchase of Arvin Meritor Automotive Emissions Division. A deal that won an Entrepreneur Insider award from the financial sector.

Commenting on the appointment, Klarius Group Chairman and Principle Shareholder Tony Wilson said: “I am delighted that David is ‘officially’ now part of the Klarius team. His experiences at PWC, and more recently at Ford Campbell earned David a respected position in the corporate finance, mergers and acquisitions marketplace. Notes for Editors: David Cheetham spent his training years at Price Waterhouse Cooper having completed a mechanical engineering degree, and then, the ACA Chartered Accountancy qualification. In 2004 David became a partner at Manchester based investment and buyout specialist firm Ford Campbell.
