In the first of a series of decisive expansion moves by Klarius after its buyout of Quinton Hazell in February this year, Klarius has opened the doors on its new 2,000 square meter Emission Control Distribution Centre located in Unna, Germany.
The dedicated Klarius exhaust and catalytic Converter distribution centre is fully integrated with the substantial Quinton Hazell Germany facility already on the site. The new warehouse will initially stock over 6,500 types of exhausts, over 1,000 types of catalytic converter and well over 3,000 separate mounting and ancillary components.
To ensure excellent customer support in Germany, the Klarius-QH German sales team visited Klarius’ flagship Cheadle manufacturing plant for comprehensive product training and an introduction to the Klarius centres of excellence for R&D, production, distribution and technical support.
Paul Hannah, International Business Development Director for Klarius commented, “As an already extremely successful and well established business the QH site in Germany provided the ideal opportunity for us to take advantage of our new economies of scale and make use of the existing sales and administration structures, while expanding capacity to address an important EU market.”
Klarius exhaust products offer the German aftermarket access to a range covering over 90% of the cars on the road in the EU that could qualify for a replacement exhaust, at a level of quality that is equal to, or often above that of the OEM manufacturer. It is available at a price level that can’t be matched by domestic manufacturers, and neither is it complicated by the quality issues of sourcing outside the mainstream EU manufacturing countries.
Ringo Krumm, Klarius Sales Manager for Germany adds, “The German market expects high quality and excellent availability, we can now meet that demand supplying to anywhere in Germany from-stock on a next-day service. The products are manufactured in the UK in a plant with the very latest cutting-edge lean production values and our own test track to support a full type-approval policy. The new stock and distribution facility at Unna brings with it a new flexibility on offer to the German aftermarket; with the majority of the best production facilities in Germany focussed on new cars, we can use our short-run flexible manufacturing techniques to produce a level of quality demanded by the German public, at a fraction of the OE replacement cost.”
