TIMAX Provides Exhausts and Sponsorship Deal For Ma5da Racing

Compared to a hand-built exhaust from a small supplier, there is a significant weight saving, and a performance advantage, as we balance back pressure very precisely on every system we make. We also control noise very carefully, in the system we have designed and manufactured for the Ma5da series this means the cars have better performance without breaking any of the noise limits on tracks around the UK.

The price of the exhaust system is also closer to a mass market item than a fully hand-built system. Klarius has invested heavily in UK manufacturing and R&D and this has enabled us to be able to produce very light, strong and high performance exhausts in smaller batches, so effectively giving the best of both worlds to the driver. In normal road cars our exhausts can give better performance than other replacement exhausts and save 3p per litre in fuel costs as the engine will run far more efficiently with carefully judged back pressure, the systems also come with a 2-year warranty.

Looking to the future, we are currently developing a race catalytic converter for the Ma5da series that could be adapted for use on other race series. The item will be on track testing this year with full roll-out next year, in advance of any change in race emissions regulations.

Klarius the manufacturer and TIMAX the UK brand are actively looking for other race series based on road cars in order to develop exhaust systems and CATs to help performance and keep British racing green in more ways that one.
