Featuring the latest automotive innovations from the aftermarket and supply chain, the return of Automechanika to the NEC, Birmingham for a second year has been heralded a huge success by quality water pump manufacturer Mark Water Pumps.

With guests at the show including professional driver Mark Webber and TV personality Rachel Riley of Countdown fame promoting the importance of engineering in this industry, the exhibition certainly had good exposure.

Funded by the Welsh government and supported by the Welsh Automotive Forum, Mark Water Pumps (MWPL) was promoting its prowess within the Welsh automotive industry. The exhibition is seen as the ideal platform to establish and develop business links with key decision makers such as buyers and planners within existing and potential original equipment (OE) and aftermarket clients. As the supplier of the highest quality automotive water pumps, MWPL have a proud UK heritage of design, manufacture and supply to major OE companies such as Land Rover, General Motors and Aston Martin.

David Lewis, Plant Manager for MWPL, comments: “Thanks to the proactive efforts of MWPL combined with the Welsh Automotive Forum’s industry contacts, several key meetings with potential clients happened during the show. We are very proud to say that we have won a contract for the supply of our water pumps to one of the largest aftermarket distributors in the UK market”.

David continues: “Unrelated to water pumps, the show also provided a high level of new interest from automotive and non-automotive parts manufacturers seeking high quality aluminium die casting. There is clearly a considerable need for this service, which MWPL is proud to offer outside our core business of water pump manufacturing”.

In addition, with a growing trend for upgraded water pumps for aftermarket applications, several discussions regarding water pump development took place with many 4x4 aftermarket distributors, including Land Rover’s aftermarket division.

Mark Water Pumps Ltd designs, manufactures and tests water pumps and cooling pumps for Original Equipment, Original Equipment Service & Aftermarket applications. The company provides in-house design, high-pressure aluminium die casting, engineering, manufacturing, assembly and testing, plus a large stock facility all located on one UK site.
