Mitsubishi Electric Europe expands the reach of its new Laser Processing business unit, based in Germany, with the announcement of its new distributor, Atlas CNC Makina Tic. Ltd.Sti. in Turkey. This move builds on Mitsubishi Electric’s growing market share and reflects the success of its innovative laser processing technologies.

Mr. Himi, global manager for Mitsubishi Electric’s Mechatronics business, comments: “We are continuously looking to expand the reach of our laser processing solution to the wider European market. It is a technology with a great future, delivering users significant cost savings and helping to protect the environment. The set up of this new business unit and our relationship with Atlas CNC are important first steps.”

Founded in 2004, the Atlas CNC team built on their existing experience and knowledge, in excess of 11 years, of the use and manufacture of sheet metal production machinery. Since then, Atlas CNC has continued to bring its unique combination of expertise and dynamic enthusiasm together for the benefit of its customers. Atlas has established themselves as the leading Turkish distributor for high quality sheet metal production machinery producers.

Its founding principles are still the core of its business today; to provide fast and high quality technical support for the machines it promotes and to support Turkish manufacturers with a reliable source of leading edge technologies in metal production from all over the world. The addition of Mitsubishi Electric laser cutting machines complements Atlas CNC’s existing portfolio of superior sheet metal production machines.

Mr. Himi adds: “Our priority is to find partners who have the same core values, experience, and reputation as ourselves, as well as covering the whole sheet metal processing business. Atlas CNC is a partner that fits our criteria well and we believe this partnership will have a huge impact, redefining the Turkish sheet metal processing market.”

Mitsubishi Electric Corporation, Japan, has been a leading developer and supplier of laser processing machines to the global sheet metal processing market for over 30 years. The company enjoys a global market share in excess of 15%, with over 10,000 laser processing systems shipped. Mr. Himi comments: “One of the key reasons for our success in the global market was that we strived to develop the core laser processing systems in-house. For example, all of the core technologies for our resonator were developed by our own key engineers, and the CNC, control systems and servo-motion elements used in our machines are all market leading FA solutions in their own right.”

The in-house designed resonator is one of the keys to success, allowing Mitsubishi Electric to open up many new fields for laser processing, delivering improved processing performance and reduced cost in applications that might previously have been limited to less precise, more costly or slower technologies.

The machines provide unprecedented accuracy with thin, medium and thick workpieces in a wide range of materials, particularly noticeable for example in the roundness of corners, eliminating the need for any post-processing. In particular, Mitsubishi Electric’s "Brilliantcut" technology has astounded many sheet metal processors by delivering surface finishes and quality previously only associated with grinding processes. Key to this capability is the increased rigidity of each machine’s main components, while the higher load capacity of the drive section parts such as the ballscrews and linear guides enable high-speed drive.

The machines provide a more environmentally friendly alternative to conventional cutting technologies. The gas-sealed resonator significantly reduces gas consumption. The higher rigidity that leads to the greater processing speed and precision means that material usage can be optimised, giving increased utilisation of material resources. The high speed and precision also help to reduce overall energy consumption. All of this means the machines have achieved Hyper Eco-Product Certification – a programme introduced by Mitsubishi Electric as part of its ‘Environmental Vision 2021’ which focuses on environmentally friendly product design as a guiding principle.

As well as fast cycle times, the machines also deliver fast start-up and changeover times, dramatically shortening the total time from set-up to output of the finished product.

About Atlas CNC Makina Ticaret Ltd. Şti.

Atlas CNC, was formed in 2004, when the founders decided to use their extensive knowledge and expertise about sheet metal production machinery, in excess of 11 years, to create a strong and dynamic company. Since its inception, Atlas CNC has strived to remain at the forefront of metal processing technologies and currently promotes an expanded range of relevant products, but continues to offer a core range of high technology sheet metal production machines. For example, Atlas CNC currently represents and distributes Muratec punching machines from Japan, Safan press brakes and guillotine shears from The Netherlands, RAS fully automated bending centers and folding machines from Germany, Timesavers surface conditioning and deburring machines from The Netherlands, Kolk heavy duty integrated sheet metal coil processing lines from Germany and Ursviken heavy duty press brakes and shearing machines in its Turkish market place.

Atlas CNC continues to expand its already successful business by providing the most recent, advanced, and reliable technologies to its customers and prides itself on its high rate of customer satisfaction achieved through its superior after sales service.
