New Mitsubishi HMIs register extra benefits

Mitsubishi launches new ‘My First GOT’ promotion to provide customers with valuable HMI software and hardware free of charge.

Everyone purchasing one of the new GOT1050 and GOT1055 small touch screen HMIs from Mitsubishi Electric can now take advantage of the benefits of the “My First GOT” offer. By registering their product online at www.my-first-GOT.com, customers will receive a free download of the GT Designer 2 screen design software, a significant value. In addition, Mitsubishi will also send a GT10-50FNB memory module free of charge. Those who register will also gain access to a wealth of HMI specific support information and documentation through the activation of a ‘My Mitsubishi’ account.

The free memory module plugs into a slot on the GOT HMI and allows programs to be transferred between different units without the use of a PC. In a production situation, the module allows an OEM to quickly download screen designs to each unit without needing a PC or specialized expertise. For an end user it means units can be replaced quickly and easily by allowing operational data to be loaded quickly into the replacement unit.

The two new GT1050 and GT1055 graphical control units are available with 5.7” monochrome or colour displays. With a resolution of 320 x 240 pixels the STN (Super Twisted Nematic) touchscreen displays are bright, crisp and legible. They support 16 blue shades or 256 colours and provide a clear representation of machine and system operations. Three megabytes of project memory provides ample capacity, even for larger projects.

Latest development software
The latest version of the GT Designer2 screen design software available free to registrants of
www.my-first-GOT.com is a user-friendly and intuitive programming tool. A comprehensive library of ready-to-use graphical objects, including switches, lamps, keypads, valves, pumps and standard ISO symbols and a large selection of fonts make it easy to create clear user interface screens so that you can get the control units up and running fast.

Compatibility
Drivers are available for Mitsubishi’s compact and modular programmable logic controllers from the FX and System Q series, the Alpha micro-controller series, the FR series of frequency inverter drives and also common controllers from other manufacturers.

One of the big strengths of all Mitsubishi Electric’s HMI control terminals is their compatibility with the company’s other products. For example, in Transparent mode you can load PLC and frequency inverter drive programs via a programming cable connected to the control units’ USB port. A PLC device monitor and a program editor for the graphical Ladder Diagram programming language are also integrated in the new models for use with Mitsubishi’s FX controllers.

The GT10 family is particularly well suited for mechanical engineering firms that export large numbers of small and medium-sized machines. Typical applications for these compact control terminals include machines for the printing, textiles, packaging and food industries, material handling, cutting and special-purpose machines, also heating, air-conditioning and ventilation systems. In addition to industrial applications they are also well suited for use in office buildings and other public facilities like hospitals, airports and museums.
